Bearing basic structure: inner ring, outer ring, rolling body, cage

  

  Outer ring

  

  A bearing ring is an annular part of a centripetal rolling bearing with one or more raceways.

  

  Type of outer ring:

  

  Tapered outer ring

  

  Double-row tapered roller bearing

  

  Aligning outer ring (aligning ball bearing, aligning roller bearing)

  

  Spherical outer ring

  

  Inner ring

  

  Inner ring type:

  

  Tapered inner ring (tapered bore bearings, such as self-aligning ball bearings, self-aligning roller bearings, outer spherical bearings)

  

  Double raceway inner ring (double row ball bearing, double row roller bearing, double row tapered roller bearing)

  

  Wide inner ring

  

  Inner ring with flange

  

  Rolling element

  

  The rolling element is the core element in the rolling bearing, because of its existence, there is rolling friction between the relative moving surfaces.

  

  The types of rolling bodies include ball, cylindrical roller, conical roller, needle roller and so on

  

  Bearings are divided into:

  

  (1) Ball bearing - the rolling body is a ball, such as: deep groove ball bearings, aligning ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, outer spherical bearings

  

  (2) Cylindrical roller bearings - the rolling body is a cylindrical roller, such as: cylindrical roller bearings, reasoning cylindrical roller bearings, roller bearings, series bearings

  

  (3) Drum roller bearing - the rolling body is a drum roller, such as: aligning roller bearing

  

  (4) tapered roller bearings - the rolling body is a tapered roller, such as: tapered roller bearings, thrust tapered roller bearings

  

  (5) Needle roller bearing - the rolling body is a needle roller, the ratio of the length of the needle to the diameter is greater than 3, but the diameter is less than or equal to 5mm.

  4. Cage

  

  Bearing cage refers to a bearing part that partially encloses all or part of the rolling element and moves with it to isolate the rolling element, usually guiding the rolling element and keeping it in the bearing.

  

  Main uses of cage:

  

  Separate rolling element to reduce friction heat generated by bearing

  

  The rolling elements are evenly spaced to optimize load distribution

  

  Guide the rolling element in the unloaded area of the bearing

  

  For separable bearings, the rolling element can be maintained as a whole when one of the bearing rings is installed or removed

  

  The main types of cages are:

  

  Stamped metal cages

  

  Stamped metal cages (steel or brass sheets) are lightweight and can withstand high temperatures.

  

  Machined metal cages

  

  Machined metal cages are made of brass, steel or light alloys. It can withstand high speed, high temperature, high acceleration and high vibration.

  

  Polymer cage

  

  Polymeric material cages are made of polyamide, polyamide, polyether ether ketone or other polymer materials. The good sliding properties of the polymer cage produce little friction and therefore allow for high speeds. In the case of poor lubrication, these cages reduce the risk of sudden failure and the side effects of failure because they can operate for a period of time under limited lubrication conditions.

  

  Pillar type cage

  

  The steel pillar cage is a pin through perforated roller and is only used for large size roller bearings. The cage is relatively lightweight and can accommodate a large number of rollers.

  

 5. Bearing seal

  

  The seal significantly extends the service life of the bearing because it keeps lubricants in the bearing and keeps contaminants out.

  

  Dust cover

  

  There is a small gap between the dust cover and the inner ring. Bearings with dust caps are suitable for relatively clean conditions or applications where low friction is necessary for speed or operating temperature. The dust cover is usually made of a thin metal plate stamped, fixed on one ring or washer of the bearing, and extends towards another ring or washer, but does not contact with the other ring or washer, and is a non-contact seal. The letters are ZZ, 2Z, ZZ, 2ZR

  

  Sealing element

  

  Sealed bearings are preferred for moderately contaminated configurations. In cases where moisture and moisture cannot be removed, contact seals are usually used. These seals form active contact with the sliding surface of one of the bearing rings.

  

  The letters are: 2RZ, 2RS, 2RS1, 2RSR, VV, DDU
